  1. Hey thank you for posting this! I got the same email from the guy but with a different domain and budget. I sent him an estimate and he replied with this:

Thank you so much for your endless effort on my project,am okay with the estimate of $5,400.00 everything also ready to make payment now with my credit card, I understand the content for this site would be needed so work can start asap but i will need a Little favor from you and the favor is that I will send you my credit card to charge for the sum of $2,617.50 plus 3.5% Cc company charges, You will deduct $517.50 as deposit for the design of the website plus extra $100.00 as a tip for handling perfect work for me and you will send the remaining $2,000.00 to the project consultant that has the text content and the logo for my website so once he receive the $2,000.00 he would send the text content and logo needed for my website to you so work can start asap,Sending of funds would be after money clears into your account and You will be charging my card for remaining balance upon completion of work,Will you send me an invoice to make the payment ?Kindly get back to me so we can proceed with payment asap including your direct cell phone.

I’ll await your positive response, so, we can get the ball rolling.

    Best Regards
    Herbert

I was a little suspicious by the first response, but I mostly thought it was a legitimate prospect. When I got this reply to the estimate I sent I knew he didn’t even read it.

  2. I got the same person requesting information on my woodworking business. I DID give my number so we could text, but I have been having some fun with him(?).
Yes, I didn’t know right away that it was a scam…until they started saying that they couldn’t use Square because his card was getting double charged. Square doesn’t work that way.
They kept asking about things I knew was on my invoice I sent, and I also knew they had looked at it (7 times), because square has that ability. They wanted to send me a check (via email), and wanted me to scan it into my bank account.
    Sometimes, scammers are total idiots

  3. I didn’t get one about web design but for making a dinning room table and for some reason after the second email I decided to Google his email and got to this page.

    Email 1:
Hello do you have the availability of making a dining table ?
I have a sample of what I need.

    Regards
    Herbert

    Email 2:
Here’s the Samples of exactly what I need or anything similar. I need the dining table made with a similar color.
A driver will have it picked up at your shop when done. No delivery needed.
    8 ft long x 3.5ft wide x 30in tall

I don’t really have any specific wood type but will be going for the best wood suitable for a dining table.

Also I’ll like to know if am talking with the owner of the carpentry business and what’s your workshop address?

    Regards,
    Herbert
